You gave me a chance at the Palais to dance...

(I look drunk in this photo - I'm not!)

Boohoo dress // ASOS shoes & clutch // Tiffany & Co bracelet & necklace // Chanel earrings

Yesterday I attended Peterhead's annual Shimmer & Sparkle Ladies Lunch in aid of the Scottish Spina Bifida Association and this is what I wore! A friend had warned me that everyone gets dressed to "wedding/ascot standard" which got me a little worried. I ended up splashing out on a whole new outfit but didn't want to buy something I'd never wear again. So this pastel pink/mint green mash up is what I came up with - dressed up with my 'good' jewellery haha. Compared to some of the ladies there I still felt a little under-dressed!

My friend's 9 month old son was born with spina bifida so I can tell you it's definitely a worthy cause - the event raised an amazing £16,000 for the charity! We were greeted with champagne, strawberries and truffles which was a good start!  Various stalls were set up around the hotel, most were running raffles with pretty decent prizes - there was a Jimmy Choo handbag up for grabs! Michelle McManus (yes, her that won Pop Idol) was our host for the day and did a great job keeping us entertained. There was a dance group of young girls, followed by a few silly games before we had our 2 course lunch. My chicken was slightly undercooked but apart from that the meal was lovely. After lunch the auction was held. An overnight stay for 4 at the Malmaison hotel, including spa treatments was sold for £550 and the 'Chef Experience' - where a chef comes to your home, cooks for you & 7 others and provides all the food & wine - was sold for £1100 which is fantastic! There were loads of good prizes to be won on the raffles and I actually won! I never win anything**! Granted it was a bottle of wine & £100 worth of menswear vouchers but the boyfriend will get a nice treat out of it haha. The rest of the evening was spent dancing with the girls. This is the 1st time I've been to the ladies lunch and I absolutely loved every moment of it - roll on next year!

**I'm proud to say I've actually won February's British Style Bloggers blog of the month award! There were other blogs up for it (Caught Up In Cake and Blue October to name a few!) that I'm sure deserve it so much more than me but thanks a million to British Style Bloggers for choosing me, you've made my week :)
