Since you've said goodbye, polka dots fill the skies...

Suffering from serious depression looking at these photos (from only 4 days ago!!) compared to today's weather! I've gone from strolling about half naked in the sun to covering up with jumpers and scarves again. So long summer, it was good while it lasted ;)

Sugarhill Boutique playsuit // Dorothy Perkins sandals // Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses // Topshop earrings

Last time I wore this Sugarhill Boutique playsuit I was wrapped up in tights [see here] but here it is styled the way it was meant to be - simple and relaxed for a Sunday stroll in the sunshine. I definitely prefer it this way! My sister and I used the good weather as an excuse for a wee adventure to Ravenscraig castle. I love walking here. It's tucked away in the countryside behind my mum's house and is such a beautiful walk. You go down a country road, across a field, along the river bank, through a few trees and up a hill and there you find it! It's kind of overgrown and not so easy to explore at this time of year but still makes for good photos.

Big thanks to my gorgeous sister for taking these photographs :)

And here are my instagram snaps from the day...

Today is the last day of Rekorderlig's Pinterest competition! The board with the most followers will be the lucky winner of £100 ASOS vouchers, so if you like mine please remember to click here & then click the 'follow' button! Thanks! :)

TGIPayday #5

It's that time of the month again (no, not that time) when I share what I'm planning on spending my hard earned wages on! The sun's recent appearance has got me feeling all summery so maxis and sandals are at the top of the list, along with this gorgeous crown from Crown & Glory. I love the festival/hippy feel of it and it would probably be more versatile than you think. If only I'd worn one this weekend I wouldn't now be in AGONY from the mega lobster sunburn stripe on my hairline!!

Crown & Glory earth, wind & fire crown // ASOS platforms // Love dress // Chainmail cross necklace from Ginger Pickle // H&M sandals

The daisy platforms were featured on my last wishlist, but I love them so much they're back again! I'm not sure I can justify spending £80 on them so I'll probably just keep lusting.

The chainmail necklace with silver crosses is by jewellery designer Kelly McAllister and is currently up for grabs on Ginger Pickle. There's loads of similar styled jewellery on the website at the moment but this necklace is definitely my favourite of the lot!

The dress and sandals speak for themselves - summer essentials! I've seen the sandals on a couple of blogs already (Marmalade and The Londoner) and love them! Currently stuck between the cream and green. Cream would probably be easier to wear but the green look pretty damn good on Rose's blog.

What's on your shopping list this month?

Here it comes, the unavoidable sun...

This weekend has probably been the nicest weekend I've had off all year! My days have been spent lazing in the sunshine, dancing with my girlfriends, eating BBQ food with my family, walking my puppy and chilling with the boyfriend. If Carlsberg did weekends....

Miso at Republic dress // Primark belt & wedges // Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses // Thomas Sabo peace necklace

I wore this outfit to my Mum's on Saturday for a lazy day lounging in the sun. Republic came up trumps on this one, it's the perfect dress for this sort of weekend. It's ideal for tanning (no straps = no dodgy tan lines!) but the dip hem means you can hide your wobbly cellulitey thighs from the world at the same time. Boost! I actually saw this dress on a blog the other day, but I can't for the life of me think which one, argh! If you have any idea please let me know!! I'll admit I've dressed it up with the belt and wedges for these pictures, I was actually barefoot most of the day and as comfy as possible :)

Can't believe this was only our 2nd BBQ of the year and it's almost June! I'm pretty sure the whole town had BBQs on Saturday as there was literally NO BURGERS in the whole of Asda!! So glad the sun has decided to rear it's head this week, here's hoping it sticks around too. It seems to spread happiness and seeing as I'm back to work tomorrow I'd quite like our patients to be cheery chappys!

Hope you've all had a fantastic weekend too! Keep your fingers crossed the sun keeps it's hat on :)
Here's a song from my favourite band of last summer's festival circuit....

Do you know where the wild things go...

At last I have a day off to enjoy the sunshine! What an absolute stunner of a day. I'm feeling a little delicate after a night out with Lynne last night (I had to sit down in the shower this morning!) but am planning on spending today chilling recovering in the sun. But before I do I just wanted to share what I wore last night. These photos were just quickly snapped outside my front door before I headed out so sorry they're not great quality!

Warehouse trousers // ASOS top // Dorothy Perkins heels, clutch & cuffs

The daisy print trousers were on again but this time I wore my lace wetlook top from ASOS. I was originally going to wear my black peplum top but decided against it as it's quite thick and heavy material - too warm for days like this! The nude heels & clutch were added to summer it up as I thought black accessories would be too much.

We spent the night dancing away and bumping into old friends so it was a good night all round! You can get a glimpse of what Lynne wore below. Excuse the funky hand gesture in the 2nd photo, I think they were playing "jump around" haha. Either that or I'm stroking background girl's chin!

Hope you're all making the most of this gorgeous weather! And listen to my current favourite tune...

Outside my house on Daisy Lane...

Warehouse trousers // River Island tee // New Look denim jacket // Accessorize necklace // Primark wedges // Next wach // Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses

How fantastic are these daisy print trousers!? They're my 1st step into the trouser trend and I am obsessed! It's the perfect print for summer, I actually want to wear them every day for the rest of my life. Warehouse isn't somewhere I often shop but when I saw these on ASOS I had to have them! They're so easy to wear - I'd probably dress them up for a night out with a peplum top and a pair of killer heels. Here I've styled them for a lazy Sunday chilling in the sunshine and walking the dog on the beach. I kept the rest of the outfit simple as I think the trousers do all the talking. What do you think? I've been seeing printed trousers all over the blogosphere lately, do you have any favourites?

Bring on the dancing horses...

Sugarhill Boutique skirt // New Look top & jacket // Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses // Mulberry Alexa // Topshop socks // Primark wedges // Necklaces from H&M & Accessorize // Bracelets from New Look & Eclectic Eccentricity

Finally getting round to blogging this Sugarhill Boutique skirt! I've worn it a few times but never had time to take photographs so I quickly snapped these outside my mum's the other day. The print is super cute and playful! You can even pick up this cute summer dress in the same print too! If you've been following my blog you'll know I have a slight obsession with midis so this skirt is just perfect for me and my summer wardrobe. I wore it for an appointment in Aberdeen on Friday which turned into a retail therapy sesh with my manfriend! Not going to lie I didn't stroll about the shops in these massive wedges, I actually wore my studded New Look pumps. The socks were a Topshop purchase on the day - they're 3 for £8 so I picked up a couple of other colours too.

Food & cocktails from Cocoa
We stopped for lunch at Cocoa on Market Street which I just cannot fault! Last time I was there was my work's Christmas night out which was lots of fun. The food definitely does not dissapoint! I had the braised beef which pretty much fell apart on my plate and was served with a gorgeous red onion marmalade and the best chips I've had for ages. They taste more like roast potatoes than chips...yum! And of course I had my usual strawberry daquiri haha.

His & hers shopping hauls haha
It was a pretty successful day really - I ended up buying the daisy print trousers I featured in my last post cause I just couldn't wait til the end of the month! Will show them off soon along with the top I got. Also invested in Chanel's "Le Blanc De Chanel" - not usually one for spending a fortune on skincare/make-up but my skin is awful just now. It better bloody work! Gordon even managed to pick up some new clothes... and a toy you do.

Hope you're all having a good weekend :)

Supersize Strawberry Tart

Strawberry season is fast approaching so today I'm sharing an amazingly easy but delicious Strawberry Tart recipe! Every year my Mum gets our local bakers to make a giant strawberry tart for my birthday, as I'm not a big fan of birthday cake. So the other day when I was drooling over the thought of this, I realised I'd have to make one myself. My birthday is still 2 months away and I just couldn't wait that long! I googled strawberry tart recipes and decided to give it a go...

You Will Need:
200g cream cheese (Philadelphia)
Strawberry jam (with no bits!)
Icing sugar
450g Strawberries
1 Large Sweet Pastry case (or make your own if you're not as lazy as me!)

Step 1:
Mix together 200g Philadelphia with a tablespoon of icing sugar - add more if you want it sweeter! Then spread it over the pastry case for your filling!

Step 2:
Slice the strawberries into halves and then arrange them on top of the cream cheese filling. I popped a whole strawberry in the centre and then worked my way out to the edges with the strawberry halves. Looking good already, right?

Step 3:
For the strawberry sauce - melt 4 tablespoons of jam over a low heat and add 2 or 3 tablespoons of water until the jam is completely melted and starts to look more like liquid!

Step 4:
Pour the strawberry sauce over the tart until all the filling and strawberries are covered. Chill in the fridge for about 30mins... et voila! Your very own AMAZING Supersize Strawberry Tart! It literally takes no more than half an hour to make, is perfect for summer and will impress all your friends at those jubilee celebrations ;)

She sells sea shells on the sea shore...

Sugarhill Boutique playsuit // H&M biker jacket // Chockers shoes // Accessorize necklace // Next watch // New Look bracelets

Hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend! On Saturday the boyfriend & I went for a wee drive to Inverurie & around the countryside - this is what I wore! We stopped for lunch at the Fennel Restaurant which was fantastic - if you're in the area it's well worth a visit. We seriously need something like it in Peterhead.

So this Sea Shell Playsuit is the 1st post of my recent Sugarhill Boutique splurge! I originally wanted the dress in this print but decided against it because of the cut out back (I can't get away with no bra)! Excuse the creases also, that's what happens when you're sat in a car for 4 hours - I do own an iron, honest! I love the print on this playsuit, it's perfect for summer and fits in with the underwater trend a la Chanel. So far I haven't seen anything similar on the high street which is always a bonus - I love wearing something & knowing I won't bump into anyone else in the same outfit! I've teamed it with black cosy accessories here as the weather is still not great, but when the sun finally decides to make an appearance I'll wear it bare legged with pretty coral sandals and aquatic themed jewellery.

This is actually only the 3rd playsuit to ever make it to my wardrobe. I like the idea of playsuits but it's the practical aspect that puts me off. My pet hate is girls at FESTIVALS in playsuits. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!? Don't get me wrong, I understand suffering for fashion & making statements. I get killing your feet in 6 inch heels because they look amazing! I even kind of get wearing a lobster on your head a la Blow/Gaga. But wrestling your clothes off for 10 minutes in a tiny shit covered, germ infested cubicle? There is nothing chic about that. Stick to shorts and skirts ladies! Please & thank you. :)

Have you bought anything from Sugarhill Boutique recently? What are your thoughts on playsuits? I'd love to know what you think of this one.

Velociraptor, he's gonna find ya...

Eclectic Eccentricity T-Rex earrings // Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses

If you follow my blog you may of already briefly seen my brand spanking new dinosaur earrings, but I love them so much I decided they needed a whole post of their own! Last week I finally decided between the T Rex and Brontosaurus and these beauties arrived on Saturday morning. Not bad considering I ordered them on  the Friday! They came from the lovely people at Eclectic Eccentricity - check out their website to find yourself some gorgeous jewellery. They have everything from pretty feathers and birds to quirky space shuttles, and of course dinosaurs. Next on my list are the Lagoon Seahorse earrings and the Sweet Dreams Dreamcatcher necklace, which is perfect for festivals! Their sample sale is live now so check it out quick before everything goes!

Anyway, it's May Day which can only mean one thing...... Super Sunday! I'm away to get my gladrags on and meet my work girlies at the pub! Outfit post to follow of course. Hope you're all making the most of the bank holiday too. Happy Hangovers tomorrow! ;)

[For any Dino-geeks out there - I'm aware a velociraptor and t-rex are not the same thing. Have you any idea how hard it is to think of dinosaur related lyrics for your post title!? ;) ]
