Peanut Butter Eyeballs

Hallowe'en is one of the reasons I love this time of year so much. Every year my friends and I get dressed up and have a good old fashioned spooky party. Except this year I've had to cancel. Gordon and I have just booked a trip to Paris for New Year (yay!!) so I'll be spending the next few months saving as much as possible whilst preparing for Christmas at the same time! Which means I can't afford a new costume/night out. BUT, just because I'm not dressing up, doesn't mean I can't still reap the benefits of Hallowe'en, right?

Introducing the Peanut Butter Eyeball...

My sister actually helped me make these for last year's Hallowe'en party, so technically I ripped it off of her. But she ripped it off of my Mum's "peanut butter bomb" recipe ;)

You will need:
2oz Margarine (melted)
Half a jar of Peanut Butter
1-2 cups of cornflakes (I used Frosties cause I already had them)
1 cup icing sugar
8 squares of white cooking chocolate
1 tube of smarties
& a red icing pen

It's so easy you could practically make them with your eyes shut [insert eyeball joke here]  - Just mix together the butter, icing sugar, cornflakes and peanut butter, then roll the mixture into balls.

Melt the chocolate (I did mine in the microwave but be careful doing this - check it & stir every 10 seconds!) and then roll your balls *snigger* in the chocolate until they're completely covered. You will get messy but thats the fun part! Pop a smartie in each one as the pupil. Or iris? I really should know this shit...

Once you've done this for all of them you can pop them in the fridge to set. Don't leave them too long though or they'll stick to the plate and fall apart when you try to take them off - I found this out the hard way! Anyway, simply use your red icing pen to draw on veins, thus making them creepy but delicious bloodshot eyeballs!

Et voila! Serve up as a treat at your Hallowe'en party. Your guests will have fun with them...

or if, like me, you're staying in this year - enjoy with a cup of tea and your favourite scary movie!

The Fur Stole

Next month my boyfriend turns 28 years old - so as a birthday treat I took him to get his tattoo finished  be tortured yesterday. It took almost 2 hours so lucky for me it meant I had time to treat myself too! I had a good rake round the shops and picked up this gorgeous H&M fur stole. It's so soft and cosy!

H&M fur stole // Topshop coat // Primark gloves // Zara skull slippers

Not bad for £12.99 eh!? I think I might get it in black next time to wear with my red coat. I'm officially a (faux) fur convert! Every winter I say I'm going to get myself a fur coat and never find one that looks as good as I imagine they should. I think the stole is a great alternative and easy way to glam up any old outfit!
Also wearing my new Zara slippers (love them!) and Primark gloves. The gloves are real leather and I'm really impressed with the houndstooth print. If I'm honest they don't really do much in the keeping my hands warm department but hey they look good and they were a Primark bargain.

Today I'm at my local car boot sale hoping to make a fortune - wish me luck! Hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

Pencil full of lead...

The lovely Katy has asked me to take part in her "Here's how we wear..." series this week - styling one of my favourite items of clothing, the classic pencil skirt. I chose to team my houndstooth print skirt with a peplum top to accentuate my feminine curves hide my permanent food baby! Check out Katy's blog for the feature - I look forward to it every week! It's perfect for a little style inspiration and it's always interesting to see how different people can put their own stamp on the same item.

These photos are pretty blurry/out of focus. My lack of photography skills are starting to piss me off to be honest. I'm thinking of investing in a decent DSLR after Christmas but not sure if I'd have the time/patience to learn how to use it properly. And there's not much point in forking out for one if I'm not gonna do it right... I always try to use natural lighting as that improves the quality, but they still turn out rubbish. You can barely even see the top in these photos - if you have any photography tips I'd love to hear them!? I just feel my blog looks lazy/poor quality with my photos and would be massively improved if they were crisp, clear and actually in focus.

Fashion Week Faves : Paris SS13

Paris is always the last but by no means least, of the season's big fashion weeks. Everyone knows you should save the best for last and this week the "big guns" showed us why...

Photos from Elle.

When I win the lottery I am going to spend my days literally rolling in Chanel pearls and dreamy McQueen dresses.
