The lovely Katy from Caught Up In Cake has asked me to take part in her "Here's how we wear..." series this week - styling one of my favourite items of clothing, the classic pencil skirt. I chose to team my houndstooth print skirt with a peplum top to
accentuate my feminine curves hide my permanent food baby! Check out Katy's blog for the feature - I look forward to it every week! It's perfect for a little style inspiration and it's always interesting to see how different people can put their own stamp on the same item.
Dorothy Perkins peplum top // ASOS pencil skirt // Carvela heels // Eclectic Eccentricity Cleopatra necklace
I'm also wearing my favourite necklace with this outfit! Eclectic Eccentricity are currently offering 20% off this beauty, along with the rest of their bloggers' picks - see the gorgeous lookbook here - just use the code "WEARYOUREE". You can thank me later ;)
These photos are pretty blurry/out of focus. My lack of photography skills are starting to piss me off to be honest. I'm thinking of investing in a decent DSLR after Christmas but not sure if I'd have the time/patience to learn how to use it properly. And there's not much point in forking out for one if I'm not gonna do it right... I always try to use natural lighting as that improves the quality, but they still turn out rubbish. You can barely even see the top in these photos. I'm going to try and take some advice from this post on Milk Bubble Tea (great blog, check it out!) but if you have any more photography tips I'd love to hear them!? I just feel my blog looks lazy/poor quality with my photos and would be massively improved if they were crisp, clear and actually in focus.
