Little blue...

I wore this on Saturday for my laaazy day off. I'd planned on getting up early and going to my kettlebells class, but my clingy bed just wouldn't let me go! So I had a long lie and a chuck on clothes kind of day. We were going out for lunch, so I wanted to look presentable but be comfy too.

H&M jumper & sunglasses // Topshop maxi dress & frilly socks // River Island boots // Thomas Sabo peace necklace // Marc by Marc Jacobs skull necklace

I've gotten quite into throwing a jumper over a maxi - my ideal trans-season outfit. This blue Topshop dress has been a favourite in my wardrobe for the last couple of years. Luckily for me cobalt is on trend this season so looks like it'll last me another one!

What do you wear in between seasons?

Another Carrie Bradshaw moment...

After reading Erika's post about tulle skirts on Retro Flame, I was inspired to purchase this pretty thing. It's a bit more of a bubblegum pink than I'd expected, but I like it none the less. I ordered it from Hong Kong, via ebay, and it arrived much quicker than I expected. I've had it hanging on my wardrobe door for a few weeks now cause I struggled to think how to style it. For the real world anyway - it's a bit OTT for my weekly shop round Morrisons! Eventually I came up with this, and wore it out for Valentine's dinner with Gordon...

New Look crop top // eBay skirt // Primark heels // 'Chanel' bag // H&M sunglasses // Dorothy Perkins belt

Just call me Christy Bradshaw! How would you style a tulle skirt?

Romance Day @ Eat on the Green

Valentine's Day is a funny one. It's technically our anniversary (4 years now!) but we don't always celebrate it. Last year we chose not to swap gifts or go out cause we were both skint, and this year decided to treat each other to a top notch lunch at Eat on the Green. I was not expecting to come home to these...

I suppose he's not the world's worst boyfriend every day.

Our lunch at Eat on the Green definitely lived up to their reputation. Everything was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. I got carried away with my starter and ate the lot before you could even say "instagram". I'm a blogging failure!!! I did remember to take photos of the other courses though ;)

I had the beef for main. It fell apart on the plate and practically melted in my mouth.

Gordon chose the venison, which he loved!

We both opted for the "Taste of Eat on the Green" for dessert - Berry pavlova, sticky toffee pudding, deconstructed Bailey's cheesecake, salted caramel ice cream and lemon posset. Yum! I was so full I couldn't finish mine. Really we should of just got one between us but hey, if we had a brain we'd be dangerous!
At 3 courses for £24.95 it is well worth the trip for an extra special lunch!

Hope you all had a great Valentines Day with your loved ones too!

BASTILLE (my beating heart)

T in the Park 2008 - Rage Against the Machine, Biffy Clyro, Amy Winehouse, the Prodigy, KOL, MGMT, the Subways!

T in the Park 2009 - Peter Doherty, KOL, Razorlight, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blur

T in the Park 2010 - Babyshambles, The Temper Tramp, Florence, Shed Seven, the Prodigy, Kasabian.

T in the Park 2011 - Foo Fighters, KT Tunstall, The Naked and Famous, hailstones in my wellies while watching Blondie!!

Kings of Leon 2011 - still the funnest day ever, my cheeks were sore from laughing!

Rockness 2011 - MET Kasabian! Paolo Nutini, The Cribs, Two Door Cinema Club, Frightened Rabbit!

Music has been a big part of my life for years. I've been to at least 1 music festival a year since I was 17, and would go to any gig at any opportunity. Until last year when we decided to swap festivals for NYC (worth it) and there weren't much gigs or bands on the go that really caught my attention - I think the "indie scene" has been dying a slow and painful death over the last year or so. Until now. Some of my old favourites are making a comeback with new material (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, the Libertines, the Strokes to name a few) and I am bloody excited. And then theres the new talents of people like Jake Bugg, Bastille, Haim and Palma Violets. I think 2013 will be the year I rekindle my love for music.

On Monday I went to see Two Door Cinema Club play in Aberdeen with my sister. Sorry for the rubbish phone photos! TDCC played a good gig, but I have to say the support from Bastille stole the show for me. Lead signer Dan has serious stage presence - I found myself glued to him, watching his every move and wishing my 'dancing' was as awkwardly cool. Swoon! Hello new boyfriend favourite band...

You've possibly heard their beautiful music on the radio lately, but if not, here is my own hand recorded PROOF that you should be in love with Bastille too.

My goal this year is to listen to music at every opportunity and go to as many gigs as possible. I'm absolutely DEVASTATED I didn't manage to get Fleetwood Mac tickets (if you can help, please get in touch!) but on the bright side, I am going to see BRMC next month!

Are you a Bastille fan? What are your favourite bands at the moment?

N.B - Sorry about the cheese-fest title, I couldn't resist!

Now here you go again, you say you want your freedom...

This weekend I met up with a few blogger ladies for drinks. Laura has been hard at work for the past few months arranging some events for us all - it was nice to finally see her and get all her news. She has some pretty exciting stuff lined up! It's about time there was some fun for us bloggers away up here in the middle of nowhere... if you're a blogger based in the north east of Scotland you can find out more on the NEBE facebook page.
