The last stop of our mini roadtrip of Scotland was Blair Drummond Safari Park! We'd debated between the safari and Edinburgh zoo, before deciding we'd rather see animals roaming around a large open space than looking sad and pathetic through a pane of glass. Blair Drummond is just outside Stirling so it was easy to stop off on our way home to Aberdeenshire. They have everything from zebras to giraffes, elephants, rhinos, lions and tigers and (no bears) oh my!

There was a little Simba that I really wanted to wake up and play. They were just "lion" around though, while Mufasa kept watch of the Kingdom from up high. My outfit for the day was fairly simple as I wanted to be relaxed for travelling. I'm in love with these boyfriend jeans from Primark which are super comfy and go with anything. Also debuting my rather manly Next shoes for the first time on the blog. I love them but they weren't a good choice for such a hot day, they cut into my swollen feet and gave me massive blisters by lunch time! Sorry for painting such a pretty picture...
We took the free boat trip around Chimp Island (to see the chimps, obviously) and then headed to our favourite part of the whole park... Lemur Land! It was feeding time and we were the only 2 people there so we got up close and personal with the cute little ring-tailed guys! They go crazy for sweet potato, I'd fit right in!
After a quick stroll around the pet farm which houses all sorts of creatures - think goats, pigs, the world's noisiest donkey and llamas that definitely don't like to be petted! - we visited the meerkats, otters and penguins, watched the sea lion show and then called it a day.
We spent at least 2 hours at the Safari Park but you could easy spend the whole day, especially if you have kids with you. There's cafes, gift shops, play parks, the "flying fox", carousels, pedal boats, BBQ areas, pretty much everything you could think of! I think we were the only adults there without kids but we didn't care haha. The Safari Park is less than an hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh - just type FK9 4UR into your sat nav!
