Eat on the Green | 5 reasons to visit the stunning new Gin Garden!

Just the other week an exciting invitation popped up in my inbox. Being a blogger in Aberdeen certainly has its perks (after 6 years of hard work!) but this particular event was one of my favourites so far. A Secret Garden Party for the launch of the brand new Gin Garden at Eat on the Green!
I loved it so much I'm going to give you 5 reasons you should visit too.

1. It's Stunning!

I believe this is all down to owner Lindsay Wilson. She clearly has excellent taste and has done a brilliant job of bringing the outdoors in. The striking leaf print wallpaper and hanging wisteria compliment the chic marble bar and the furry bar stool covers add a cosy touch that will be much appreciated in the colder months!

2. Over 50 gins!

With Tanqueray being a strong focus, this is one hell of a gin list! I highly recommend their zesty new Flor de Sevilla gin, made with bittersweet Seville oranges.

You can enjoy a perfect serve or choose your own from a selection of Primrose Hill, Lamb & Watt or Walter Gregor tonics. From the big players (Hendricks, Brockmans, Bombay Sapphire) to the lesser known but much loved locals (Esker, Porter's, The Teasmith) there really is a gin for everyone.

3. Great food!

We were treated to a fantastic array of canapes at the launch party, each one full of spectacular flavours and ideal paired with gin. Personal highlights included these swan masterpieces, the chicken with mango salsa and the most incredible tasting venison - and those were just canapes

It's no secret that Eat on the Green is one of the most highly rated places to eat in Aberdeenshire, thanks to "the Kilted Chef" Craig and what better way to end your meal than with a G&T or two?

4. Cocktails!

As if serving 50 gins wasn't enough, there's even a menu of classic gin based cocktails. Eat on the Green's skilled bartenders were shaking up some delicious tipples behind the bar. I highly recommend the Clover Club - made with Tanqueray, grenadine, lemon juice and egg white, this fruity cocktail is a treat!

5. The Pretty Patio!

What's a Gin Garden without an actual garden? The outside space has been transformed into a beautiful patio with pretty white outdoor seating, fairy lights and greenery inspired by the botanicals used in gin. Think juniper, coriander and apple trees. It's a lovely setting to sip a cold drink in the sun and I'd love to see it with patio heaters and cosy blankets in the winter!
