Breakfast Week

I love breakfast! If I could only eat one meal a day, this would be it. It's the last thing I think of when I go to bed and the first thing I think of when I wake up. (I am always hungry.) You can imagine how happy I was when I heard about National Breakfast Week! The campaign ran from 25th-31st January to celebrate and promote the benefits of eating a healthy breakfast. It actually is the most important meal of the day! If you've been following me on Instagram you'll of seen these already but I wanted to share my thoughts and breakfasts on here too! :)

Monday - Protein porridge after boxercise!
Tuesday - Circuits & protein pancakes.
Wednesday - Metafit, a banana & an omelette! 
Thursday - A long lie & toast. Needed energy for insanity in the evening!
Friday - A disaster of a day. Protein porridge made it better though - chocolate & almond butter!
Saturday - Protein porridge with fruit & Greek yoghurt. 

Breakfast = Breaking the fast. Your body has been in fast mode all night so when you eat in the morning, you kickstart your metabolism & start burning calories!

Eating protein in the morning helps repair & build muscle, but it keeps you feeling fuller for longer too... so you're less likely to be stuffing chocolate biscuits in your face at 10am!

Don't fear carbs for breakfast - they fuel your body! The more active you are, the  more your body will burn them up for energy. If you eat bread & pasta all day but sit on your backside & do nothing, THEN they'll be stored as fat. Eat good carbs & stay active!

People who eat breakfast are more likely to be slimmer & maintain weight loss than people that don't. Make time for breakfast. Get up 5 minutes earlier, grab a banana or a bit of toast, it's better than nothing!
