Healthy Choc Chip Oat Cookies

After my last "naughty" recipe, it only seems fair to balance things out with something a little more nutritious. These healthy oat cookies are made from natural ingredients, and are a handy little carb boosting snack to enjoy post workout! Or, any time of day really... Plus they still include a little chocolate to satisfy your sweet tooth and sugar cravings. I wouldn't expect you to go cold turkey after the Easter egg binge!

Ingredients
225g (2 medium) mashed ripe bananas
100g honey
125g old fashioned oats
100g dark chocolate chips
1 tsp cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

Simply mix together all of the ingredients until they combine into a sticky, dough type consistency. I found my mixture to be a little too wet so you could either reduce the amount of honey or increase the oats to avoid this! Take a spoonful of the mixture and roll it into a ball between the palm of your hands. Place on a lined baking tray and flatten out with the back of a spoon.

Bake your cookies in the oven for 20-30 minutes, depending how you like them. I baked my second batch for a little over 30 minutes and they came out a much nicer, golden brown colour with a crunchier texture than the first batch which I only gave 20 minutes!

Try not to eat them all at once!
